So, I have fallen in love with flower crochet headbands lately… so fun and easy to make. Yesterday night I made this super cute headband for Eirun, in less than one hour.
This headband is simple to make, and if you know the basic crochet stitches you should be all set.
I used a pony tail rubber band as base to make the headband easier to use.
Crochet flower hippie headband 2:
🌸what you’ll need:
Cotton yarn suitable for hook 3,5mm
Crochet hook 3,5 mm
A rubber band (for pony tail)
🌸Stitches used
Singe crochet sc
Double crochet dc
Chain ch
Slip stitch slst
🌸Start:
1 sc around rubber band.
Ch 8. Slst in 5th ch from hook making a ring.
Slst in next 3 ch.
you are now back to the rubber band. Sc one in rubber band.
Dc3 in the ring, ch 3, slst 1 in ring (first petal)
Ch3, dc4 (second petal of first flower. )
You have now finished half of the first flower and will go on to flower number two.
Ch 8. Slst in 5th ch from hook, making a ring. Slst in the next 3 ch backwards to flower no 1.
Dc 3 in ring, ch 3, 1 slst in the ring, ch 3, dc 4 in ring. You now have finished first half of flower no 2.
Continue the same way until you have 10 half flowers or suitable length for your head.
Sc 2 around rubber band. Ch 3, slst 1 in ring.
Turn.
You will now crochet the other half of the flowers all the way back to the other side of the headband.
Ch 3, dc3 in ring, ch3, slst1 in ring, ch3, dc4 in ring.
Dc3 4 in next ring, ch3, slst 1 in ring. Ch 3, dc 4 in ring. You now have finished the first two flowers of your headband. Continue same way all the way to the end of the headband.
Finish after dc 3 in ring of the last petal, ch 3, slst 1 in ring, ch 3 fasten with one sc in rubber band, cut thread and bind off.
Fasten all lose ends.
Find middle of rubber band. Sc 3. Bind off.
Fasten loose ends.
Voila!
Ready to use the cutest hippie headband. 🌸
