This post is quite spontaneous. Today I’ve been on a road trip with a friend of mine and while driving trough the beautiful landscapes, stopping here and there to take a closer look, take photos or find some geocaches I’ve been contemplating about how much this beautiful Mother Nature means to me.
As my friend is a passionate geocacher (you can go see what this hobby is all about at www.geocaching.com ) she’ll drag me out at least every once a week to go on road trips, walk in the forest, go to some lake, climb trees, go to some islands, walk in the park or climb mountains to find these little boxes with a note pad inside to write our name to tell “whoever” we were there and enjoyed the journey.
So, thanks to my friend, the last couple of years I’ve been able to enjoy the Norwegian nature and landscape quite frequently. And you know what?!?? I loooove these trips. Even if I can feel totally exhausted after a day in the forest or hours of walking I always feel recharged, inspired, fulfilled. Nature has this amazing way of bringing peace and balance. Walking in the nature, no matter where, is like yoga… it lowers stress, it makes the mind clear and makes the body feel alive and well. I’m quite certain this outdoor activity makes my mind and body work better. I’m even quite certain our weekly walks in the nature has brought me trough some years of struggle and fighting against cancer and getting well in the best way possible. Nature is amazing and no matter the season I always get impressed and inspired by nature.
No doubt we need to take care of this wonderful artwork that our planet truly is.
I’m sharing a few photos from today’s trip to the south-eastern part of our country – along the Swedish border. We visited one of the places where Norwegian refugees went to find a way to cross the border to Sweden during world war 2 , a truly beautiful place. We watched a beautiful channel and lakes, we watched golden acres and dark forests. Now I feel inspired and recharged – ready to write more recipes, more instructions and more blogpost to share with you my friends.
