Yay! Today I found time to create the greeting card for the wedding.
You know I actually looove paper crafting. In the past I did paper craft every single day … so making this card for Camilla and Edvin is something I’ve been looking forward to and planned how I wanted it to turn out quite some time.
Now, when you’ve been quite good at something (not to brag) and then all of a sudden stop doing it … getting started is such a joy… but it’s also kinda scary… sounds strange? Well, what I mean is the inner critic that shows up and ask if I really still is able to make the card as nice as planned… maybe I’m just messing it all up … I finally got to silence that critic and went to work on the card.
I had some ideas in my head and grabbed some super cute paper flowers and gem stones at the craft store. I went trough my old stash finding some patterned paper I love, some glimmer mist and some white cardstock.
Sharing pictures on my step by step process:
1. here is how I started out. First I had my white cardstock and the paper flowers. I went trough my patterned paper and grabbed three different I thought might be a good fit.
2. I cut the white cardstock in half (now 12″x6″ (measurement in inches))
3. I arranged the flowers and leaves the way I wanted them on the card. Still not gluing them to the cardstock.
4. I grabbed my glimmer mist and gave the middle of the card a little splash of color. I used two different pink nuances. The light one are just a few larger splashes.
Now I let the card dry completely.
5. While waiting for the glimmer mist to dry I hand traced a large heart shape on the patterned paper I decided on using and then cut the heart shape with a scissor.
6. Adding the heart to the card. I went on gluing it all together.
7. Finally I added the gem stones and a few pink pearls.
8. Lastly I used my black drawing pen tracing a line around the card to make it pop.
This card made me so happy. Hope you like it and maybe you feel inspired to make your own card.
Now off to wedding preparations.
