Det er straks skolestart og starten på nye hverdager I hverdagen kan det være fint å ha faste rutiner på ting, ha en plan og ide om hvordan man skal rekke å få til alt. Matpakke er en viktig del av vår kultur. Jeg tenker også at det på mange måter kan være en viktig del av dagen. Ofte gleder man seg til lunsjen, det betyr en pause, på skole og barnehage betyr det også pause... og kanskje noe godt i matboksen. Dom ivrig turgåer er jeg også stor fan av matpakke. Det er en viktig del av turen å finne et bra sted å sitte og spise noe godt. Men ... hvor ofte ender vel ikke matpakka med å bli litt stemoderlig behandlet ... dårlig tid om morgenen eller rett og slett bare gammel vane og innarbeidede rutiner gjør at matpakka kan bli helt lik dag ...
Repurpose & Reuse – making the coolest school bag
So, the other day my daughter Sol (16) came to me with her old school bag and asked me if I could possibly repair and save it. As she have used that bag every single day at school the last three years it's possibly needless to say that bag was totally worn out. I told her I could possibly repair it but it wouldn't last long anyway. I told her she needed a new bag ...but true story, she didn't look happy at all. Now she's away at a last minute vacation just before school starts, and I decided I wanted to surprise her with a new school bag when she gets back home. Proud to say my girls are really into sustainable, earth friendly, reuse, repurpose and all that kind of things .... so making her a school bag out of a re-purposed dungaree ...
Just a card
I have this cupboard in my kitchen.... a cupboard filled with paint, paper, buttons, some fabric, beads, needles and thread, ribbons AND my old scrapbooking stash ... no, even if I don't scrapbook very often I can't seem to make myself move this paper-and-scrapbook stash I loved so much to another location for less used stuff .... and today was one of those days I was happy and inspired when I looked for something else in my cupboard .... and because I just packed up the shawl I created last week it was perfect timing. It was so fun to create this simple, cute card for a girl I love. Keeping the inspiration while working on larger creative projects.
The last couple of weeks I've been working on a large crochet summer shawl. I've made a previous post on this project too. You'll find it here. Today I'm finishingup the instructions and pattern in Norwegian and English (!!!) and they will be available shortly so stay tuned. When working on larger, more time consuming yarn projects like this one or knitting sweaters or anything like that people often ask me how I find the patience to finish such a time consuming project. And you know what... I have no idea (!). Lol. True story. While working on some big crochet or knitting project I always have thousands of new ideas popping up in my head. New ideas. New inspiration. Love Nature
This post is quite spontaneous. Today I've been on a road trip with a friend of mine and while driving trough the beautiful landscapes, stopping here and there to take a closer look, take photos or find some geocaches I've been contemplating about how much this beautiful Mother Nature means to me. As my friend is a passionate geocacher (you can go see what this hobby is all about at www.geocaching.com ) she'll drag me out at least every once a week to go on road trips, walk in the forest, go to some lake, climb trees, go to some islands, walk in the park or climb mountains to find these little boxes with a note pad inside to write our name to tell "whoever" we were there and enjoyed the journey. Good day! While working on some larger projects and preparing a description and pattern for the crochet shawl I've been working on for a while I wanted to share a fun little project with you. I loooove these useful and tasty homegrown, dried yellow chilli peppers. You might already have seen my canned yellow chilli peppers ... you'll find it HERE http://www.gudruns.blog/2018/07/canned-yellow-hot-chilli-peppers-💥/ I also saved some of the chillis from my friends garden to hang dry in my kitchen. I love making my own chilli powder or chilli flakes to use in my cooking. Drying whole chilli peppers are easy peasy.
