Fall is here and I'm wearing woolen sweaters and woolen socks to keep warm. To be honest I looooove hand knit woolen socks. Nothing works better to keep the feet warm. The last week I've been knitting some woolen socks. First a couple of pairs for my guy and me to bring to the vintage camping this weekend - and then while we were there I started to make another pair for a friend. She told me her grandma used to knit socks for her, but now her grandma is too old to knit. So I decided to make her a pair. Making hand knit woolen socks is pretty simple and fast ... of course you can make really fancy, beautiful socks too but these everyday socks are so useful. Many people hesitate to knit socks because they worry about how to make the ...

Garden berry tea
Today is tea Day. Fall has arrived in Oslo and it's getting colder. Lucky I'm prepared as I harvested leaves and some berries to dry and make this years garden-berry tea. I gathered green leaves from blackberry, black currant, red currant, wild strawberries Melissa and added in a few berries too. I let the green leaves air dry on a rack in my kitchen. I dried the berries at 70 degrees Celsius in the oven. When the leaves was dry I crushed them and added the crushed leaves and dry berries to a glass jar with an airtight lid. If you enjoyed this recipe for homemade garden berry tea, maybe you'll like my recipe for peppermint tea from the garden too. You'll find it HERE. ...
Repurpose & Reuse – making the coolest school bag
So, the other day my daughter Sol (16) came to me with her old school bag and asked me if I could possibly repair and save it. As she have used that bag every single day at school the last three years it's possibly needless to say that bag was totally worn out. I told her I could possibly repair it but it wouldn't last long anyway. I told her she needed a new bag ...but true story, she didn't look happy at all. Now she's away at a last minute vacation just before school starts, and I decided I wanted to surprise her with a new school bag when she gets back home. Proud to say my girls are really into sustainable, earth friendly, reuse, repurpose and all that kind of things .... so making her a school bag out of a re-purposed dungaree ...
Just a card
I have this cupboard in my kitchen.... a cupboard filled with paint, paper, buttons, some fabric, beads, needles and thread, ribbons AND my old scrapbooking stash ... no, even if I don't scrapbook very often I can't seem to make myself move this paper-and-scrapbook stash I loved so much to another location for less used stuff .... and today was one of those days I was happy and inspired when I looked for something else in my cupboard .... and because I just packed up the shawl I created last week it was perfect timing. It was so fun to create this simple, cute card for a girl I love. It's all made of my old scrapbooking stuff ... patterned paper by scenic route, I think (but not sure) the little fairy is by Cosmo cricket, the pink ...
