English👇🏻 God mandag!!
Staycation for the happy homemakers 🌱 sharing our summer projects.
Sponsored by www.hobbii.dk Happy Monday! It's mid July, it's the warmest summer in more than 70 years in Oslo .... we are enjoying the days off and summer at home, rewinding after the wedding weekend one week ago and just chilling, doing things we love. Yes, we love DOING things. So, we enjoy our staycation in the garden, working on our self made pergola project (Jarle is doing the most woodwork) and after doing the entire framework we've now added in windows on two sides of the pergola 😊 I'm enjoying the day at the deck chair in the garden. Crocheting. I'm really so excited about the collaboration with hobbii and the beautiful organic wool I'm testing, I can't help myself but sharing my crochet project. Most times I don't share ...
Making my own luxury Rosewater
This summer season is filled with all the beauty and wonderful scents from all the flowers. Here in Scandinavia it's almost like one big firework during these short months of summer and daylight 24/7. I love it all so much! I love each and every beautiful flower. They all have their own uniqueness. It makes me want to capture it all, putting it in jars and preserve it, keeping it so I can find it during the long winter and remind me of natures beauty. So, every year I set out to make stuff based on flowers and plants I love. Today I want to share my homemade rose water. It's a simple but yet beautiful way to preserve the beauty, scent and color if the oh so wonderful wild roses. Who doesn't loooove the scent of roses?! I use my ...
Cheers to the weekend
So, I was bragging about the unbelievably tasty elderflower limonade I got from my mom as a gift for my birthday. This limonade is so good and really versatile. You can mix it with water and drink it as limonade. You kan mix it with hot water, lemon and honey and drink it as tea (it's super good for your immune system) You can mix it with mineral water and a drop of freshly squeezed lemon or lime and drink it as a sparkling refreshment ... you can add it to your smoothie or any juice to add the delicious taste of elderflower... you can add it to sherbet, desserts, you can even mix it with a little bit of prosecco to make a summery, festive drink or mix it with white rhum, freshly squeezed lime, peppermint leaves, sugar and soda to make ...
Rhubarb&strawberry sherbet
Yes, I admit I'm a ice cream lover.... or maybe more like a sherbet lover. The fruity, fresh, tasty, real taste and smooth texture are perfect for dessert all year but in the summer I think I could live of ice cream and sherbet only.... ok, and some fruits and berries ... and fresh veggies .. and... I also have this love for rhubarb. It makes me super happy when the strange large leaves and the super sour and tangy stalks appear in my garden. I kinda feel like I want to wear the leaves as a hat and run into the kitchen to find a cup of sugar like I did when I was 5. So, because I love homemade berry-fresh sherbet - and because it's my birthday tomorrow I think I'll serve you one of my all time favourite homemade sherbets made of ...
Garden love
Today I found the very first ripe, red strawberry in my garden this summer - what could ever make this day any better? The feeling of success, happiness and utter joy when the plants you've grown and carefully watered bring you their scencere thanks giving fruits you can eat and enjoy. So, in order of this event i thought i should just give you a little glimpse into one of my passions and joys; pieces of my garden. Being outdoors is my kind of recharge, fuel up and feel alive and whole. BC of my previous illness the last three years I haven't been able to do much gardening or growing so this year, when I finally have found my way and the energy to do a little bit of garden passion it feels special and precious. Now you might ...
