Making your own DIY tassels are so simple and totally fun. Even the kids can join in on this easy diy.
Good thing is you can use whatever scraps of yarn you have around your house. It doesn’t even have to be the same color. Actually; the more the merrier. 😊
Here is a little step by step illustration on how to make your own diy tassels:
- Cut a piece of cardboard, a little bit lager than the size you want for your tassel.
-
Add whatever yarn you like until the thickness of the tassel feels right.
-
Add a piece of yarn on top of the cardboard and bind it tightly around top of tassel. Secure with a knot.
-
Using a sharp scissor, cut trough all the loops of yarn on the opposite side of the cardboard from where you tied the knot.
-
Using another scrap of yarn, tie around the tassel 1 centimetre from the top.
-
Trim the tassel to your liking.
When you’ve made up some tassels you can use them for quite some fun projects and decorations.
Put your homemade tassels in your car with a few drops of essential oils as a super cute diffuser.
Add them on top of a gift as fun gift-toppers.
Use them as a garland tied together for your next party.
Add them in your beach basket or shopping bag as a decoration or make a beautiful wall hanging.
Hey, how fun is that!? So many great ways to use up your yarn scraps.
Have fun creating!
